FIBA 2009
2009-05-24The seventh edition of FIBA, Festival Internacional de Buenos Aires (Buenos Aires International Festival) will be held Monday 5 through Sunday 18 October.
FIBA is one of the highlights of the cultural agenda of the City, an international event which encompasses a premium lineup of national and international shows, workshops, talks, presentations and special events aimed at generating a space for dialogue and reflection between artists and the eager public as well as raising new questions as to production means and aesthetic explorations among specialists.
Our city will be witnessing two weeks of intense performing activity at the local and international level that will attest to the quality and diversity of contemporary scenic arts.
Winners of the VI GERMÁN ROZENMACHER Award for New Theatre Writing
The Jury composed of Griselda Gambaro, Mauricio Kartun and Luis Cano has selected the winners of the VI Germán Rozenmacher Award for New Theatre Writing, organised by Centro Cultural Ricardo Rojas (UBA) and the VII Buenos Aires International Festival. The winning entries are:
- “Peaje”, by Mariana Eva Pérez: First Prize of $6,000.00 (six thousand Argentine pesos)
- “Sueño con Cebollas”, by Natalia Carmen Casielles: Second Prize of $4,000.00 (four thousand Argentine pesos)
- Special mention to “Salón Fortaleza”, by Flavia Gresores and to “Tristeza Nao Tem Fim”, by Patricio Abadi
The two awarded plays will be translated into English, Portuguese and French and will be published in a four-language edition with a print run of one thousand copies.
